The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Branch (BBB) within the Division of Population Health Research (DiPHR), at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting a Staff Scientist with research expertise in Bioinformatics. This Staff Scientist will have knowledge and experienced in modern techniques of multivariate analysis, specifically, analysis of high dimensional omics data. The ideal candidate will have strong computational skills and experience in working with various softwares and programming languages as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence methods is desired.
Members of BBB develop and implement methods that support novel study design, analysis of large heterogeneous databases, and dissemination of statistical and computational methodologies to the field. The role of this Staff Scientist involves extensive collaboration and requires the ability to function independently to support and contribute to Investigator-led collaborative methodological research in BBB and public health research conducted within DiPHR. Additionally, the Staff Scientist will assist with administrative support to the branch.
The applicant must be experienced in the analysis of high dimensional data and will be expected to work with DiPHR scientists with diverse expertise on issues related to study design and analyses of data. The successful candidate will have experience in collaborative research documented in publications and more generally will have a history of publications that reflect experience in the statistical requirements of this position. Furthermore, since the position requires working with researchers with diverse expertise, strong communication skills are a requirement.
The ideal candidate must have a Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computational Biology or a related field. Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
