Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Data Analyst supports the Strategic Sourcing Team with analyzing data by creating reports/dashboards, drawing meaningful business insights, and developing processes/systems/tools to optimize the capture and analysis of data.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Develop/maintain KPI's, dashboards, and metrics to gauge Procurement/Strategic Sourcing performance
  • Develop supplier performance metrics and scorecard framework
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis for Sourcing projects (i.e. assessment of spend by supplier diversity or purchased category)
  • Prepare and present insights and recommendations thru use of effective data visualizations
  • Leverage and advise team on current best practices and technology for data analytics and business intelligence for Sourcing operations
  • Identify and drive projects to optimize and automate workflows and core processes within the Sourcing team and wider Procurement department.
  • Develop tools and templates for should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership and savings calculations, RFX creation and management, supplier communications, negotiations, contracting/redlining, and supplier performance management
  • Ad-hoc support to Strategic Sourcing Project Managers and Category Managers with interpreting data during supplier research, RFX evaluation and supplier business reviews


Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytics-focused discipline (i.e. Accounting/Finance, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management)
  • 4+ years of professional experience with data analysis in Business, Finance Operations, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or similar field.

Demonstrated proficiency in using:
  • ERP / MRP systems (basic level)
  • Project management (basic to intermediate level)
  • Data Visualizations (intermediate level)
  • MS Excel (advanced level)
  • SQL (basic to intermediate level)

Preferred education experience and skills:
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience in or strong knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and/or strategic sourcing functions and best practices.
  • Understanding of systems and mechanisms of data management and control.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (i.e. PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Experience with project management software (i.e. Jira, Trello)
  • Experience with collaboration tools (i.e. SharePoint, Confluence)
  • Developed emotional intelligence with experience in orchestrating cross functional teams thru projects.
  • Self-starter attitude with ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-pace environment
  • Great communication skills with ability to listen critically when defining problems and solutions. Must be able to frame unstructured and complex analytical problems to a broad audience
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to regularly interface with executive management.
