The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for the position of Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Advanced Studies. The Associate Dean is a senior member of the college administrative team and provides visionary leadership in biomedical and agricultural research in a decentralized campus environment that emphasizes academic excellence and fulfillment of the Land Grant mission. Requirements include a PhD, DVM, or MD degree or its equivalent and must be a distinguished biomedical, clinical, or agricultural scientist with a strong professional record compatible with an appointment of full professor with tenure. Successful candidates will have had a history of success in completing high-quality research and education in a basic science or clinical setting.

We are seeking a candidate who has experience in developing productive collaborative research programs and would have the ability and desire to drive efforts towards integration of research across the Urbana-Champaign campus. The University of Illinois is one of the premier public research universities in the country, known for its uniquely multidisciplinary collaborative research environment. The College of Veterinary Medicine boasts an expert faculty with diverse and complementary interests, with research strengths in cancer biology, comparative and diagnostic medicine, conservation medicine, ecosystem health, environmental health and toxicology, infectious disease, neuroscience, and reproductive biology. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, and the appointment includes an additional one month of summer salary. Anticipated starting date is on or around August 16, 2022. This is a security-sensitive position.
