Faculty Positions, Department of Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology & Biotechnology Programs

The University of Houston, Department of Engineering Technology is seeking applicants for three tenure-track faculty positions. One faculty position is in the Computer Engineering Technology Program and two are in the Biotechnology Program.

Successful candidates will be expected to develop dynamic, innovative, and independent research program supported by external funding in areas of their research and/or educational expertise and contribute to academic and professional service. Candidates will also be expected to integrate their research with education and engage in curriculum development, developing new courses or updating existing ones. Candidates will be expected to excel in teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses and contribute to the continuous improvement and outcome-based assessment and accreditation of the program.

The Department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from a diverse background and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for disadvantaged students.

Successful candidate is required to work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment across departments and colleges.

Areas of interest include genetic engineering and/or metabolic pathway engineering integrating computational analytics and/or bioinformatics to study fundamental or applied research. Candidates having expertise in cellular application, microbial or plant biology related to health, disease, and/or the environment is a plus. We especially seek applicants whose research disciplines synergize existing faculty expertise and foster collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Assistant Professor in Biotechnology (FAC002142)
