A postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in a highly dynamic interdisciplinary laboratory in University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, studying the role of ciliary genes and signaling in bone metabolism and diseases.

Proposed studies focus on the role of ciliary genes in stem cell homeostasis and bone and cartilage development and diseases. Studies involve in vivo assessment cell lineage and stem cell commitment and bone cell activity using gene knockout mouse models. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with strong research capabilities and ability to design and carry out experiments with a high level of independence. This individual will also assist the PI in training new lab members and writing research manuscripts and documents.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a recent PhD or equivalent degree in Biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and/or bone biology with background in cell signaling and knockout mouse models. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required. A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals is desired. Research experience in bone biology and bioinformatic analysis is encouraged, but not essential.
