As Scientist, Protein Biochemistry, you will be contributing to various studies and be responsible for delivering pre-clinical and clinical data analysis. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… Provide expertise in the area of protein biochemistry to GSK vaccine projects Complete protein production, biophysical characterization and/or structural characterization studies for candidate vaccine antigens and/or antibodies Execute a range of experiments/technical studies/tasks independently based on protocol Develop new protocols to overcome project challenges Interpret results and communicates to his/her supervisor and/or design next logical step of experiments based on interpretation of results. Be a self-starter, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously Effectively manage uncertainty and adapt to changes in priorities and timelines Collaborate with key scientific internal and external stakeholders. Produce high-quality written documentation/presentation of work to enable publications of data in peer reviewed journals, patent filings, etc. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology or other related discipline MS with 3+ years, or BS degree with 5+ years of experience in research and development, preferably including vaccine research in an industrial, academic or government laboratory settings Experience in antigen design and protein characterization. Experience with various protein expression systems (e.g., Mammalian, E.coli) Experience with diverse protein purification methods (e.g., affinity column purification, size exclusion chromatography) and equipment (e.g., AKTA systems) Experience in bioanalytical assays (e.g., ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, SPR, DSF, and/or DLS) Experience with structural biology (X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, and/or computational modelling) including HTP crystal screening and/or EM grid preparation. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Experience with RNA purification Demonstrated ability to conceive and perform independent innovative research Demonstrate willingness to spend ~80% of time in the research laboratory Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively collaborate within multiple project workstreams Fluency in English, spoken and written Why GSK?
