Summary
Our group focuses on synaptic development and translational applications in neural diseases. We seek to uncover molecules that control neural identity and synaptic partner choice and to understand how disruptions these choices may contribute the disease processes. We are a dynamic group that offers an engaging work environment.
As a member of the lab you would design, direct, and conduct research experiments, evaluate and analyze data, develop and validate new protocols, aid in project management, help lead intergroup teams toward completion of assigned goals, design and conduct proper validation and controls for research, read and evaluate the literature, aid in figure generation and paper writing, contribute to grant writing.
Job Purpose
Performs complex research of an advanced nature under the general direction of the Principal Investigator. Typically requires a high-level of skills and expertise in the area of research specialty.

Job Duties
- Knowledge of mouse work;
- Histology expertise;
- Knowledge of confocal and other imaging modalities;
- Experience in tracking of large datasets;
- Interest and ability in team management, people skills, communication, and time management;
- Knowledge of biostatistics;
- A sincere interest in or background in neuroscience;
- Experience with flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, protein analysis, library preparation, sequencing techniques, and tissue handling and processing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
- Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Neuroscience or Neurobiology background.
- Interested in project development, writing and taking a lead on new lines of enquiry.
