Cancer Center and Cancer Research at Mayo Clinic:

The Mayo Clinic is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, with a multisite presence. Its three campuses give the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center a broad geographic reach, enabling it to serve diverse patient populations around the world.  The Department of Cancer Biology plays a key role in Mayo Clinic’s mission by engaging in nationally and internationally recognized biomedical research in cancers in the brain, breast, liver, and pancreas; translating key findings to the clinic; and training future generations of biomedical researchers through Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The breast cancer team in Florida is known for its extensive involvement in the preclinical and clinical development of new breast cancer therapies as well as the identification and translation of cancer biomarkers. They are active participants in the NCI Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) grant, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and the NCI Experimental Therapeutics-Clinical Trials Network (ET-CTN). The three campuses are also home to outstanding, internationally recognized physicians and scientists who collaborate across the full spectrum of cancer research, from basic biology to treatment, as they seek ways to reduce the burden of cancer.
