As a Medical Information Manager, you will understand globally how HCPs and population-based decision makers are using scientific evidence to inform decisions, deploy population-management programs and cost containment strategies, and control new product coverage/use. These responsibilities include some of the following: Conduct activities in partnership with global and local Medical Affairs Leads (MALs), medical information content managers and scientists, Value Evidence and Outcomes (VEO) scientists and leadership Identify and summarize relevant content in alignment with brand strategies, emerging data, or new market entrants Assess customer evidence requirements for GSK medicines Partner with VEO Scientists to translate relevant scientific evidence in a compelling and effective manner for HCPs and formulary decision makers Problem Solving and Innovation This role will need to implement the plans to address problems and barriers in the context of a highly matrixed and regulated environment. This requires a willingness to proactively identify and discuss potential issues with commercial partners and the ability to problem solve solutions when GSK policies complicate or seem in conflict with our goals of meeting customer needs. Interaction Individuals in this role work within a highly-matrixed and dynamic internal team environment. They must establish rapport, trust and credibility with individuals in highly influential roles within global and local Medical Affairs or Commercial teams. They will need to inform, influence, and engage Director-level and higher commercial and medical business partners. These internal teams may at times need convincing or education to understand and act on customer needs. There will at times, be disagreements or disputes over how to handle customer feedback or requests. This role will need to be able effectively manage this type of conflict with highly-educated and experienced partners in the context of challenging business situations. This requires strong communication and active listening skills, professional maturity, and business acumen. Strong communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills, along with an ability to drive a group to action/decisions, will be required. Impact This role directly contributes to key company goals and objectives Individuals in this role will play a critical role in that alignment process by leveraging their understanding of customer needs to drive medical strategies and priorities across multiple brands in a therapeutic area. Content created will be scientifically centered to help inform clinical care and formulary access decisions and other strategies which can have significant impact on the appropriate use of GSK products. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: PharmD or equivalent education 1-3+ years of experience developing scientific or medical information material for HCPs, Payers, Public Health Authorities or Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) customers (directly or indirectly) in a global/local communications role 3-5+ years of extensive and relevant scientific experience (communicating and translating scientific evidence) in a pharmaceutical, managed care, or Health System setting Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: PharmD with formalized training (e.g. Residency or clinical experience) in Oncology is strongly preferred MPH/MBA is a plus Previous experience in Oncology is strongly preferred Specialty Residency and/or post-doctoral training in a pharmaceutical industry/health system/payer setting is a plus Previous experience in Health Outcomes, Pharmacoeconomics, Epidemiology, Health Policy/Health Services Research, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Administration. Experience working with global teams Experience managing or participating in large projects is preferred Strong knowledge of Payers, IDNs, Public Health Authorities or Government Customers (CMS, AHRQ, DERP, etc.) is desired Demonstrated customer-focus, problem solving abilities and strong conflict resolution skills Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders on priorities and needs to fill scientific data gaps or needs of HCPs Payers, IDN, Public Health Authorities or Government Customer Experience communicating and translating evidence and customer insights to/with matrix team partners; proven ability to develop innovative, customer-focused medical solutions and resources. Ability to work in a cross-functional and matrixed team to participate in organization-wide initiatives Strong biomedical literature evaluation skills Clear ability to summarize complex scientific literature, real-world evidence, CER, and other observational research studies for scientific evaluation needs by various customer types Experience operating in a highly dynamic, changing, and matrixed environment Ability to develop and maintain strong trusted relationships with internal partners locally and globally Why GSK?
