Role summary

The qualified candidate will be joining the Biomedicine Design (BMD) organization to contribute to the discovery of biological therapeutics in Cambridge, MA. As a Sr. Associate Scientist, the candidate will be a member of a team that develops and executes high-throughput assays for biotherapeutics, using our suite of automation equipment. The qualified candidate will contribute to the discovery and development of therapeutics antibodies. He or she will lead design, validation, and execution of cutting-edge assays at benchtop scale or compatible with high-throughput screening platforms. The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, interactive and creative individual who possesses the ability to work across a highly matrixed environment to advance drug development programs. The candidate will be expected to effectively collaborate with colleagues across antibody discovery and engineering groups. The successful candidate will demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication and be capable of presenting scientific results to multidisciplinary teams. This is an ideal opportunity for a scientist who is looking to further develop her/his skills i n biochemical and immune assay technology.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute assays that support early antibody discovery and optimization.
  • Develop, validate, and apply medium/high throughput cell-based and biochemical assays related to oncology, immunology, inflammation among others
  • Analyze, interpret, and report experimental results at team meetings.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and data in laboratory notebooks in accordance with company policy.
  • Generate written reports to summarize laboratory activities and projects
  • Operate HTS equipment and conduct tasks in a safe manner, adhering to established guidelines.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience or Master's Degree with 0-2 years of experience with a degree in biochemistry, cell biology, chemical engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality data sets
  • Proven hands-on experience with biochemical and cell-based assay with fluorescent readout technologies such as DELFIA, HTRF.
  • Experience in drafting protocols and reporting scientific results. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, with ability to prioritize workloads, and work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Creative, innovative, with strong problem-solving approach
  • Able to work with people cross-functionally on multiple tasks.
  • Strong computational skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with operating laboratory automation.
  • Experience with microscopy and flow cytometry.
