If so, this Functional Genomics Data Strategy Director role could be an exciting opportunity to explore. As Functional Genomics Data Strategy Director, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a Functional Genomics (FxG) data strategy to ensure highly dimensional data produced by FxG is delivering value for the pipeline from target discovery to clinical decision making. You will ensure seamless integration of data generated by external collaborations; coordinate and ensure connectivity with essential business partners across the data space, including: Computational Biology, Data Science & Data Engineering (DS&DE), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML) and R&D Tech. You will define best practice for data analytics for bench scientists in FxG and ensure GSK is connected to cutting edge advances in data analysis by identifying and developing next generation data approaches to address complex biological problems. You will also understand the needs of business partners in Human Genetics, AIML, Research and Oncology by developing strong working relationships in order to maximize the business impact of investments in Functional Genomics for pipeline impact and technology innovation. To be successful in this role you will need: A PhD in data analytics and computational science applied to genomic technologies a good understanding of data flows, computational approaches, advanced analytics such as machine/deep learning, experience with data visualization and decision making Demonstrated delivery of integrated computational solutions Awareness of or experience in functional genomics technologies, omics pipelines and gene editing assay systems in a pharmaceutical or biotech R&D environment or leading academic research center. Demonstrated ability to build forward-thinking strategy for a technology area Strong written/verbal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work in a matrix and effectively collaborate with internal and external groups Why GSK?
