Site Name: Richmond Sherwood Posted Date: Nov 17 2021 The Principal Scientist, Consumer Science is a key member of the Consumer Science & Product Understanding group, and exists to: Ensure consumer-centricity of specific innovations within a category and/or a region pipeline. Ensure that these innovations provide a consumer preferred user experience, via consumer modelling, better holistic and sensory design, a coherent and compelling product story, and resulting in leadership shares and sales. Ensure R&D is consumer obsessed and that everyone in R&D hears the Voice of the Consumer The role touches the entire innovation lifecycle, from ideation to product launch, as well as product optimization post launch. Identify innovation opportunities from qualitative and quantitative consumer research Define Ideal Product Models for initiatives via qualitative research and consumer modeling Iteratively gets consumer feedback on prototyping via qualitative and quantitative research Validates lead product options via quantitative research before they undergo ‘formulation lock' (gate 3). Validates non-clinical claims with consumers via quantitative research Refines the product story that will enable successful market launch by the commercial functions. Validate with consumers the product optimization programs post launch, for in-market products. Ensure that everyone in an R&D category and/or a region, understands consumers attitudes and behaviours towards GSK products and competitors and is fully empowered to make the right decision for consumers, from the boardroom to the lab technician. Generates best practices, develops capabilities and shares them with colleagues in the Consumer Science & Product Understanding group. Ensure that interactions with consumers are compliant with the Human Subject Testing policy (408), and that all quality and regulatory requirements are met. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: 10 years in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) or Healthcare Experience in Consumer Science/Products Research (qualitative & quantitative research, consumer modelling, upstream/front end consumer need definition AND downstream/product validation and claims substantiation) Expertise in developing novel methodologies Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking Leadership, communication and influencing skills, ability to lead change Commercially savvy Why GSK?
