What You Will Achieve

We are seeking a Senior Associate Scientist at the BS/MS level, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. Pfizer's Investigative Toxicology laboratory is a highly innovative, functional and integrated scientific discipline contributing to the advancement of the overall portfolio. The Senior Associate Scientist will focus on providing cell-based screening and mechanistic assay development to support programs with diverse targets and modalities within Pfizer portfolio at different discovery and development stages. This lab-based role is expected to design, conduct, and interpret scientific experiments to determine mechanisms of toxicity and/or develop screening assays with minimal supervision. The individual will assist other members of the investigative toxicology group and contribute to building a collaborative, caring, respectful work environment that emphasizes diversity and inclusion. This individual will be able to analyze, and summarize data, and present results to supervisor and project teams. The ability to collaborate across teams in a matrix environment is required.

Qualifications

Must-Have
  • A Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related discipline with 4 years of research experience or Master's degree in biomedical field with a minimum of 2 years of research experience.
  • Experience in cell culture techniques, such as maintenance and propagation of cell lines, primary cell isolation and culture.
  • Must be intellectually and scientifically curious with a willingness to learn new technics and a propensity for scientific problem solving.
  • Must have excellent organizational, record-keeping and documentation skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively summarize and present scientific data and concepts both verbally and in written format.


Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with molecular techniques, including but not limited to PCR, ELISA, ProteinSimple Western blots.
  • Experience with plate-based high throughput assay design and conduct, compound dilution, dosing, and cell-based assay development.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to walk, bending, lifting, ability to perform complex data analysis.
