The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in Immunology beginning August 2022.  

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate-level courses in immunology and microbiology with labs, majors and non-majors general biology courses, and upper-level courses developed based on the candidate’s area of expertise. Faculty are expected to participate in student advising as well as service to the department and university. Establishment of a funded research program involving undergraduate students and MS graduate students is expected. Research in any area of immunology will be considered. Ph.D. is required. Position is contingent upon available funding and satisfactory background check.

 The Department of Biology is the largest department in the College of Science. We currently have over 400 undergraduate majors and 38 graduate students. More than half of our undergraduates pursue graduate or professional degrees after graduation. The department has extensive facilities for its teaching and research programs and the 15 faculty represent specialties spanning the breadth of the discipline.

Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) is the largest university in northeast Indiana, offering 25 graduate and over 100 prestigious Purdue University undergraduate degrees and certificates. More than 8,000 students of diverse ages, races, and nationalities belong to the PFW family. The 600‐acre campus in Fort Wayne is home to just under 7,000 degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Through PFW’s partnerships with area high schools, almost 2,000 high school students take dual‐credit courses, simultaneously earning both high school and college credits.
