What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Scientist in Reagents Management, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will have the important role of supporting multiple vaccine programs across Pfizer Research & Development. You will prepare high-quality assay solutions using Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and coordinate reagent qualifications across multiple immunoassay platforms. You will gather and process sera samples in support of our clinical and non-clinical programs. In addition, you will support throughput activities and provide support to our clinical and non-clinical research programs.

Your strong foundation in general scientific practice, its principles and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Exercise and build basic team effectiveness skills {e.g., commitment, feedback, consensus management} within the immediate work group.
  • Perform job responsibilities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices/ Good Laboratory Practice (cGMP/GLP) and all other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Assist in updating and writing documents associated with reagent preparation and qualification, Standard Operating Procedure and status reports.
  • Assist in ordering supplies from internal inventory and prepare reagents/supplies.
  • The position requires the analyst participation in all High Throughput Clinical and Immunoassays (HCID) activities including but not limited to robotic and manual preparation of samples and reagents for preclinical and clinical serology in a high-throughput setting.
  • Maintain a detailed inventory of freezer reagents such as controls and sera panels.
  • Present progress on lab projects to colleagues and senior management.
  • Collect and analyze data on a per project basis to support troubleshooting, qualification and other lab projects.
  • Execute reagent qualification testing and analysis of data to support clinical testing.
  • Stay current on all departmental and corporate training.


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • 0-3 years of laboratory experience in a relevant field of science
  • Hands-on experience in the lab
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate and work in team environment
  • Good Computer skills including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain timelines
  • Must be proactive


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Experience preparing timelines and proactively following up on critical steps and details of the project to maintain timelines
  • Experience working and troubleshooting robotics
