Site Name: Cambridge 300 Technology Square Posted Date: Nov 9 2021 We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, skilled in vitro cancer biologists within the GSK Oncology Synthetic Lethality Research Unit located in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will work together with cross-functional teams to discover and develop novel oncology drugs with a clear genetic relationship to cancer. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to design, develop and interpret in vitro cancer biology assays to enable studies from novel target validation through clinical candidate nomination. Expertise in high-content imaging assay development and analysis is required and a strong proficiency in cancer biology is greatly preferred. Why You? Basic Qualifications: PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related life sciences field and 3 or more years of post-graduate research experience or non-PhD with at least 10 years of pharmaceutical drug discovery experience. Two or more years experience in Cancer Biology Two or more years practical expertise with high content imaging assay development and software for data analysis. Preferred Qualifications Deep knowledge in DNA damage response (DDR), DNA damage repair pathways and oncogenic driver pathways. Experience in independent design and execution of high-content cell-based imaging assays to define functional response, mechanism of action and biomarkers for oncology small molecules. Demonstrated experience in cell biology and hands-on experience with cell-based assay development. Experience with the development and characterization of disease-relevant cellular systems utilizing molecular biology, function genomics (siRNA, CRISPR) and small molecule perturbation. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team/matrix environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong background in cancer biology reflected in peer reviewed publications Why GSK?
