Summary
The Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX is seeking a Research Administration Manager. The pre-award will be the primary focus and budgeting/post-award responsibilities will be a secondary focus. Additionally, the Research Administration Manager will oversee administrative and financial operations of research studies and/or clinical trials.

Job Duties
- Engages in pre- and/or post- award grant management activities.
- Provides financial management and accountability, including developing budgets, monitoring budget and grant expenditures, reconciling accounts, financial reporting, and ensuring federal and institutional accounting standards are met.
- Establishes and implements quality assurance and quality control measures/oversight and ensures adherence to College policies and regulatory standards.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises research administrative staff.
- Prepares grant and subcontract submissions internally (BRAIN) and externally (Sponsor sites).
- Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the pre-award and post-award grants management process; reviews and analyzes current protocols, faculty-staff communication, and quality of the submission process; makes recommendations for process revisions and implements changes as appropriate.
- Reviews and approves grant applications, certifying summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research ane Assurance Information Network (BRAIN) on behalf of the department.
- Contributes to the preparation of budgets for grant quarterly/biannual/annual reporting purposes.
- Prepares financial reports and tracks research mission financials for department leadership review for financial performance of grants and contracts.
- Ensures compliance with all guidelines.
- Prepares outgoing subcontracts and reviews incoming subcontracts.
- Works with the PIs to ensure timely submission of all required documentations.
- Assists with maintaining correct effort reporting; manages timely invocing for the studies and trials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Four years of relevant experience.
