ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a creative, highly motivated expert in molecular biology to join our Chemical Research and Development (CRD) laboratories based in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will conduct independent research in enzyme engineering towards the development of industrially viable biocatalysts. CRD, as part of Worldwide R&D in Pharmaceutical Sciences, is responsible for the development of synthetic processes and technology for the production of Active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct independent research in enzyme engineering and the generation of new enzyme platforms
  • Analyze and review work published in the field of protein engineering and apply it to project related work
  • Collaborates and prepares internal research reports and technical presentations as well as manuscripts for external publications
  • Maintains an up to date electronic research notebook with all required supporting information.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Experience

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Molecular biology with experience in enzyme engineering and data analysis. Track record of scientific accomplishments demonstrated through journal publications. Previous first-author publication(s) in internationally recognized journals are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Lab experience in biocatalysis, protein engineering and bioinformatics is desirable .
