What You Will Achieve

The Immunogenicity Sciences Group within the BioMedicine Design (BMD) department is seeking a motivated and dynamic Immunogenicity Senior Scientist to work within the team and contribute to immunogenicity risk assessment across a diverse array of therapeutic protein modalities and disease areas.

The role has responsibility for establishing and executing laboratory-based predictive immunogenicity & immunogenicity reduction technologies, in particular in vitro cellular assays. The role will be to work independently, use scientific judgment in making decisions within the area of technical expertise, and propose new options to develop new processes and assays to advance Immunogenicity Sciences knowledge and technology.

In collaboration with Immunogenicity Scientists, Protein engineers and other lines within BMD, the Senior Scientist will provide continuous support to Pfizer biologics portfolio projects.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Isolate and culture various human blood-derived cell types to support the Immunogenicity team and other partner lines in delivering high-value data in support of Pfizer biologics portfolio projects
  • Conduct and analyze results of immunogenicity risk assessment studies
  • Organize and present data to the immunogenicity team to inform decisions
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking to investigate and establish novel techniques or technologies to advance, improve or optimize scientific practices and procedures in the discipline
  • Effectively interacts within Immunogenicity team and across BMD to support projects advancement
  • Provides mentoring to junior members of the team


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • PhD with 1-3 years industry/academia experience in the field of immunology, biotherapeutics or vaccine
  • Solid understanding of perturbations of the immune system in diseases as diverse as cancer and autoimmunity
  • Extensive hands-on experience with human PBMC isolation and storage, human immune cell functional in vitro assays, magnetic beads cell separation, and flow cytometry
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, including data analysis and report
  • Scientific curiosity, initiative, and ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and skills. The position requires an individual who will thrive in a team
  • Track record of mentoring
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative, fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with molecular immunology
  • Track record of method development skills with novel and complex methods
  • Experience in automating assays
