Position Summary

The Department of Hematology and the HMRI are seeking an experienced Research Associate for conducting immune monitoring of vaccine recipients in our Covid-19 vaccine program. The main tasks involve flow cytometry and preparation of blood cells for cryopreservation. Applicant must have demonstrated experience in human blood cell processing and must be able to independently conduct flow cytometry cell staining and analysis with an advanced understanding of compensation and scatter analysis. The successful applicant will have several years of laboratory-based experience in the field of viral immunology that will include ELISA, ELISPOT and other flow cytometry-based techniques that involve measuring T cell function and identity.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience or Master's with 1 year of experience is required
  • Hands on experience using ELISPOT, FLOWJO and handling human blood samples is strong preferred
  • Experience within immune monitoring and its application to viruses is preferred
