Multiple full-time NIH-funded postdoctoral research associate positions are available in the lab of Dr. Hongbing Wang in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University (https://physiology.natsci.msu.edu/directory/faculty/hongbing-wang-ph-d/).
The main research direction of the lab is to study molecular and cellular mechanisms underpinning adaptive brain function and pathophysiology associated with psychiatric disorders. Candidates with PhD and/or MD degree and experience in the field of neuroscience and/or molecular biology are encouraged to apply. This position requires skills in experimental design, data analysis, trouble-shooting and problem-solving, and effective oral and written communication. Desired qualifications are skills in molecular/cellular biology, electrophysiology with mouse brain slices or in vivo recording, imaging with live animals, and/or animal behavior. The position offers opportunity to identify key signaling regulators of neuronal plasticity and homeostasis as well as therapeutic targets/strategy for the treatment of Fragile X syndrome and Bipolar disorder. The salary is according to experience and NIH standard.
