Summary
The research associate will work with the principle investigator and lead scientific research projects, involving the designing, implementation and troubleshooting of experiments, collection and interpretation of data, and writing manuscripts or abstracts to report the discoveries in the forms of journal publications or conference communications. The research associate will also help train junior investigators in the group, e.g. graduate students, summer students, and other staff.

Job Duties
- Perform literature search to identify the gap of knowledge in the field of brain control of metabolism.
- Develop testable hypotheses and design scientific experiments to test these hypotheses.
- Collect data, perform analysis of data, and generate graphic presentations of the results.
- Compose manuscripts, abstracts, posters or PowerPoint presentations for publications or other scientific communications.
- Provide hands on training to other lab members (e.g. graduate students, summer students and lab staff).
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
- Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in path clamp electrophysiology
