Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic postdoctoral researchers interested in disease mechanism research and drug target discovery. Our research focuses on vascular diseases in the eye and cancer. We use a unique technology of comparative ligandomics to profile disease-related cell-regulating proteins, followed by characterization of their functional activity, disease selectivity, pathogenic role and therapeutic potentials in culture and animals. The research activities involve molecular biology, cellular biology, protein biochemistry, recombinant viruses for gene transfer, phage display, antibody engineering, RNA-seq, bioinformatic analysis, and animal models. Candidates with motivation to develop a successful career as a scientific professional in biomedical research are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • Handles laboratory operations.
  • Supervises research staff.


The Postdoctoral Associate will perform the following research activities:
  • Laboratory research to investigate disease mechanisms, etc. - 40%
  • Animal-related research, etc. - 55%
  • Organize lab, review inventory and order supplies - 5%


Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience.
