Summary
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is offering an innovative full-time primary care research fellowship to doctoral students, including those with clinical and non-clinical research degrees. This fellowship features a two-year core curriculum, emphasizes multidisciplinary team-based mentoring, and offers a diverse spectrum of primary care research opportunities. An optional third year will be available to fellows who desire further expertise and preparation in a certain field or area of primary care research.
Fellows will complete applied research projects, prepare and submit scholarly articles, attend scientific networking workshops/conferences, and may participate in writing grants for extramural funding with the assistance of a faculty mentoring team.
Additionally, fellows will attend weekly didactic and applied sessions as part of their core curriculum, as well as a monthly research seminar and Fellows' Forum. These structured activities will give fellows an opportunity to interact, serve as peer reviewers and advisors to one another, and provide feedback to the faculty regarding the quality and direction of the fellowship training program.

Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts primary care research.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- May establish new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in various scientific and behavioral health fields including social work, psychology, nursing, or epidemiology/public health or related field.
