Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join the Li Laboratory within the Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiovascular Research at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Li's research lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias. The ideal candidate will lead a project to discover novel genetic and molecular regulations of atrial fibrillation and cardiac conduction disorder, which may yield translational impact on clinical practice.

Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments across various disciplines.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Writes detailed scientific reports, and mentors graduate and undergraduate students.
- Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals.
- Presents research findings regularly to the group and at national or international conferences.
- Collaborates with others on a regular basis.
- Develops of new methods.
- May be responsible for laboratory operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge/skills: cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac physiology, Western blotting, qPCR, cell culture, cloning, animal handling, data analysis, and presentation.
- At least 2 years' research experience in cardiovascular sciences, or next generation sequencing and basic level of bioinformatic analysis.
