Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, Health Engineering

 

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a tenured/tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, to start on September 1, 2022. This search is part of the health-engineering cluster hire at NYU Tandon, a strategic effort to invest in research and development of health-related technologies. The faculty and students of the Department of Biomedical Engineering focus on connecting engineering and technology with medicine. Therefore, many groups have a substantial clinical component in their research. Strong connection and collaboration with world-class faculty at the NYU Langone Medical Center, the Grossman School of Medicine, and the College of Dentistry, offer unparalleled opportunities for research across boundaries through interdisciplinary collaborations. The laboratories in the department create new approaches and tools for medical imaging, tissue engineering and repair, bioinstrumentation and biosensors, mechanobiology, robotics and prosthetics for rehabilitation, synthetic and systems engineering, neuroengineering and a wide variety of other applications. Qualifications

We are looking to hire in all areas of cell and tissue engineering including regenerative medicine. The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. We seek individuals who have or have the potential to develop a strong record of scholarship, leadership, curricular innovation, entrepreneurship, and an excellent funding record. In addition, the applicant should have demonstrated or have the potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring.
