KEY FUNCTIONS

Project Management and Sample Intake
  • Formulate documents as necessary and edit existing documents to ensure proper document of each project.
  • Communicate with different PIs and answer inquiries about projects.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to ensure projects are moving forward in a timely fashion, proactively reporting when projects are delayed for any reason.
  • Establish and institute project and sample tracking processes including approaches to ensure accurate identification and tracking of samples.
  • Ensure that all sample submissions to the IPCT laboratory are accurately recorded, optimize efficiency of transferal to the laboratory for processing, and accurately track requirements for each individual project.
  • Ensure compliance of specimen storage and record keeping with IPCT policies.


Record Keeping
  • Provide documentation and routine reporting to IPCT leadership related to the progress of all ongoing projects in the IPCT laboratory.
  • Create and maintain documentation and standards as directed or needed.
  • Provide and enforce guidelines related to project entry criteria into IPCT ensuring that only approved projects enter the pipeline.
  • Apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to properly document and manage the progress of individual IPCT sequencing projects.


Invoicing
  • Prepare quotes based on the requested services.
  • Track projects and communicate with investigators to accurately invoice in a timely manner for all services completed by the IPCT laboratory.
  • Create reports as required by management to facilitate financial tracking and reconciliation.


Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Experience

Required: Five years of experience in scientific, research or clinical laboratory to include three years in a lead/supervisory capacity. With preferred degree, three years of required experience in a lead/supervisory capacity.
