Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Neurogenetics

Position Description Summary

The Department of Biological Sciences at the George Washington University ( GWU ) invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Neurogenetics at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2022. Our department’s research interests focus primarily on non-mammalian systems, and the successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an externally funded research program at the intersection of experimental neurobiology and genetics. The teaching expectations include a genetics course with a laboratory component. We particularly welcome candidates from groups that are historically underrepresented in biology and/or have demonstrated leadership toward building an equitable and inclusive scholarly environment.

To be considered, please complete an online faculty application (https://www.gwu.jobs/postings/87426). Review of applications will begin on December 8, 2021 and continue until the position is filled, pending final budgetary approval. Employment offers are contingent on the satisfactory outcome of a standard background screening. The university is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer that does not unlawfully discriminate in any of its programs or activities on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or on any other basis prohibited by applicable law.
