Life Sciences at Georgia State University is experiencing dynamic growth in multiple departments across the University, and we invite applications for tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology to contribute to this growth. We seek outstanding researchers with expertise in cellular and molecular approaches to contribute to departmental expertise in the study of Microbiology, Virology, Neurobiology, Microbiomes, Immunology, Metabolic Disorders, Cancer, and other molecular sciences.

Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in Biology or a closely related discipline. Successful candidates must demonstrate potential for vigorous extramurally-funded research program that will synergize with existing research strengths in the Department of Biology and have a strong potential for research collaboration in biology and across life sciences at GSU.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding, a strong record of publications, and experience mentoring and teaching students from diverse backgrounds.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate biology classes and sustain a vibrant collaborative externally-funded research agenda. A competitive salary, start-up funds and laboratory space will be provided. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, detailed research plan, statement of teaching philosophy, a diversity statement, and a list of names and contact information for at least three references to: biologysearch@gsu.edu . Feel free to contact Dr. Eric Gaucher with any questions about the position using this email address.

Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2021, and will continue until the position is filled. Additional documentation may be requested at a later stage. An offer of employment will be conditional upon background verification.
