Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, located in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a term faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month position with salary commensurate with qualifications.

The successful candidate will support veterinary, undergraduate, and master’s students emotionally and academically. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to develop human and veterinary anatomy instruction and curricula, including teaching and supervision of a cadaver-based undergraduate human anatomy laboratory course (BMS 448), and support laboratory instruction for veterinary anatomy courses in the professional curriculum (BMS 330 and BMS 331). The candidate will also develop a new undergraduate laboratory-based veterinary anatomy course that will help prepare future professional students by providing hands-on veterinary anatomy instruction.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD, DVM, MD, or equivalent degree.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated ability to instruct undergraduate, professional, and graduate students.

- Advanced training in a human and/or animal cadaver-based laboratory.

- Experience developing anatomy curriculum for professional students.
