The Stritch School of Medicine is undergoing rapid growth in all of its departments and seeks to develop areas that bridge basic and clinical research. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology offers a stimulating research environment with 17 primary faculty members studying host-microbe interactions within the disciplines of bacteriology, immunology, and virology. We offer robust graduate programs, excellent core facilities, and a highly collegial and collaborative environment. Additional information on the department and its research faculty is described here: https://ssom.luc.edu/microbio/. Laboratory space will be in the Center for Translational Research and Education (www.luc.edu/ctre).

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree, relevant postdoctoral training, and a strong publication record. Physician-scientists are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be expected to establish and sustain a vigorous, externally funded research program, teach graduate and medical students, and engage in service to the university. To apply for this position, upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, 3-page research plan, and list of at least three references at www.careers.luc.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
