Assistant Professor/Basic Sciences: NMR Facility Manager
The Department of Molecular Biology and Biophysics at UConn Health in Farmington, CT, seeks a PhD-level NMR Facility Manager. Responsibilities include maintenance of NMR instruments from multiple vendors, managing upgrades and new instrument installation, assisting users, implementing and testing custom pulse sequences, and analysis of complex NMR data. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. Appointment will be at the Research Associate level for a candidate meeting the minimum requirements. A more experienced candidate could be appointed as Assistant Professor, affording opportunities for independent research.
A PhD in chemistry or related field is required, as is experience using modern NMR instrumentation and developing, implementing, executing and analyzing macromolecular solution NMR experiments. The UConn Health NMR facility currently operates four spectrometers (400, 500, 600, and 800 MHz), most equipped with cryogenic probes, with plans for expansion and upgrades. The facility serves multiple highly collaborative faculty from across the UConn Health and UConn Storrs campuses.
