Postdoctoral Research Fellow: work focused on the pathobiology of (1) dystonia, and (2) neuroregression/neurodegeneration related to defects in DNA repair pathways and nucleolar function. Closely related projects using long-read sequencing to study ribosomal DNA and the genetics of dystonia. Lab funded by the NIH, private donors, and foundations. Position for two years with possible extension to three years. Research uses modern, cutting-edge tools from genetics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to study dystonia, DNA repair pathways in the CNS, rRNA/rDNA, and the nucleolus. Work involves cell culture, DNA sequencing, analyses of mRNA and rRNA, morphological neuroscience, animal models, behavioral testing, and bioinformatics. Experience in one or more of these areas desirable.
