Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine - Skeletal Stem Cell Biology and Aging
The Leucht laboratory at New York University Grossman School of Medicine (Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Cell Biology) is looking for an exceptional postdoctoral fellow in the area of skeletal stem cell aging, specializing in Stem Cell Research, Aging or Regenerative Medicine. The successful candidate will perform research on mechanisms that regulate skeletal stem cell fate decisions and how they affect the aging skeleton during homeostasis and repair. We expect to identify potential drug targets that will lead to the translation into clinical trials within our clinical research program.
Requirements:
Our lab at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a motivated and talented scientist who will contribute to discovery and translational research.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Conducting cell-based and molecular biology research including tissue culture, phenotypes, proliferation and differentiation assays, flow cytometry analyses, RNA/DNA analyses including ChIP-seq and RNA-seq, transduction/transfections/infection, RNA/DNA extractions, PCR, immune-histochemistry, immuno-precipitations and immunoblotting, and general lab organization/ordering as well as lab safety issues.
- Performing preclinical studies in mouse models of bone fracture repair.
- Maintaining accurate records, writing reports, and preparing/giving presentations.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biological sciences.
- A strong background in stem cell biology, molecular biology and cell biology.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform both self-directed and guided research.
- Effectively work as part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists.
- The postdoctoral fellow will be affiliated with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
