Assistant Professor (Developmental Biologist)

The Biology Department at Missouri State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a commitment to inclusive teaching practices and increasing student diversity and retention. We seek a candidate who conducts research that addresses fundamental questions in the field of Developmental Biology including, but not limited to elucidate the mechanisms of growth, differentiation, pattern formation, morphogenesis, or environmental influences on organism development. Requirements include a PhD in Biology or related area, peer-reviewed publications in developmental biology, and excellent communication skills. Primary duties include (1) conducting research in developmental biology as stated above; (2) teaching courses in introductory biology, developmental biology, and specialty courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, to total 9 contact hours per semester; (3) advising graduate (masters) and undergraduate students; and (4) substantial effort to obtain external funds for research.
