Position Summary

This project manager role will support City of Hope's strategic initiatives by managing and coordinating projects of various sizes and scales under the direction of the Principal Investigator in the Department of Surgery. Specific responsibilities partnering with assigned internal researchers and clinicians to assist them and their teams in developing project plans; managing and reporting schedules, risks and issues; leveraging standardized project management toolkits; coordinating and facilitating meetings; developing presentations, papers, grants and deliverables to support project priorities and facilitate project decisions; and ensuring aligned communication across project teams, with internal researchers, clinicians, and management.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for all phases of project management including coordination, project plan development, schedule management, risk and issue management, communications and change management for assigned projects. Has experience managing 1-2 project workstreams and 5+ project resources.
• Produces analysis and presentations to support project priorities and facilitate project decisions
• Adapts enterprise and external best practice tools to meet the needs of assigned projects and project leads
• Working with the collaborators and participants to ensure prompt delivery of papers, grants and other deliverables with focus on quality and timeliness.
• Manages relationships with researchers and clinicians to ensure collaborative progress on individual projects.
• Develop presentations, papers, grants, and deliverables to support project priorities.
• Exercises critical thinking and engages with all participating parties to ensure paper, grant and project deliverables.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Bachelors in Arts/Science or related discipline
• 2+ years of recent related industry experience
• Demonstrated ability to see and mitigate risks preemptively
• Strategic agility and ability to navigate through and work with different leadership styles
• Ability to navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills to effectively manage projects from inception to completion, adhering to deadlines, within budget, quality and desired outcomes/metrics
• Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with executives and other key stakeholders
• Superior project management, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Anticipates needs, responds quickly, provides guidance and support, monitors and follows up as required
• Demonstrates high standards of personal excellence by continually seeking ways to improve performance and setting & working to achieve goals
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite, Adobe Pro, BioRender, EPIC (EMR)

Preferred education experience and skills:

• Masters Degree in Health Sciences or related discipline

• Healthcare/research project management experience, Social determinants, Health Disparities, Environmental Justice
