Weill Cornell Medicine has many exciting and engaging options available for trainees who would like to pursue basic and clinical research projects in respiratory diseases. The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is currently accepting applications for fellows and post-doctoral PhD students interested in pursuing a NIH T32 supported project under the mentorship and guidance of a research faculty member. T32 mentors are available across a broad spectrum of disciplines, drawing from the Pulmonary Division, the Department of Immunology, the Department of Epidemiology, the Department of Biostatistics & Informatics, and many clinical divisions (Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, General Internal Medicine, Nephrology, etc.). The T32 Research Training program provides research training in the pathogenesis and treatment of pulmonary diseases and treatments for a broad group of scientists from diverse backgrounds.

Strengths of our T32 program include:

  • Extensive Clinical Translational Science assets
  • 10,000+ sq ft of lab space in multiple campus locations
  • Formal educational programs (concurrent clinician-educator certificate, Masters of Public Health, PhD, and Masters in Clinical Sciences for clinician trainees)
  • Focus on career development, with successful funding by many trainees including NIH K and foundation development awards
  • Joint training opportunities through the Department of Medicine Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP)
  • Clinical exposure opportunities for basic scientists
  • Administrative staff dedicated to the T32
  • Monthly seminar slots for T32 trainees in the Divisional research
  • Co-mentoring teams comprised of junior and senior faculty
  • Integration with "big data" research initiatives

Applications for these T32 positions are competitive, open to U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals, and permanent U.S. residents.  Interested applicants should send the below requested documents to Michelle LoPiccolo (mil2053@med.cornell.edu) by 5:00 PM on January 10, 2021
