The Research Associate will be part of the Pre-Clinical Bioanalytics (PCB) group, supporting multiple fast-paced non-clinical studies for advancing novel gene therapy programs across all Therapeutic Areas.

  • Perform various bioanalytical assays in support of all therapeutic areas (Discovery, CNS, Liver, and Ocular) for advancing early therapeutic programs.
  • Participate in testing research and preclinical study samples, analyze experimental data, and prepare results documents.
  • With guidance from the manager, participate in developing new research-based bioassays and optimizing existing assays using various bioanalytical techniques.
  • Collaborate within the PCB group to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and detailed records of experimental work.
  • Maintain inventory of lab reagents, supplies and test samples.
  • Participate in instrument maintenance, as needed.
  • Champion all safety aspects in the Translational Research laboratories.
  • Hands-on laboratory work.
  • Perform experiments, analyze data and maintain proper documentation of experiments performed.
  • Participate in maintaining lab equipment.
  • Participate in maintaining proper inventory of lab reagents, supplies and study samples.
  • Stay current with all required lab safety and compliance training.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 3 years laboratory experience is required.
  • Broad knowledge of basic lab techniques (such as tissue culture, ELISA, ECL, and Western blot) is required.
  • Experience with immunoassays (such as biomarker, anti-drug antibody, and cell-based neutralizing antibody assay (NAb) is preferred.
  • Bioanalytical assay development experience is preferred.
  • Experience with AAV vectors is a plus.
  • Experience with basic research is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate technical problem-solving skills of moderate to complex issues, discuss with manager and refer to policies/practices for guidance.
  • Keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Champion all safety aspects in the Translational Research laboratories.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to adapt to meet team goals.
  • Must be comfortable in the fast-paced work environment and interact with multi-disciplinary research teams
