The University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences seeks candidates for an open rank, tenure-track faculty position in the fields of pharmaceutics and drug delivery. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences comprises the basic science disciplines within the UIC College of Pharmacy.
The Department's reputation as a top-ranked, research-active unit is bolstered by its collaborative environment. The UIC College of Pharmacy is based in the heart of the Illinois Medical District, which is also home to the UIC's Hospital & Health System, College of Medicine, and five other health science colleges. The College of Pharmacy is ranked among the top ten U.S. colleges of pharmacy in total Federal funding. The College of Pharmacy has synergistic strengths in analytical and medicinal chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, proteomics, and clinical pharmacy with emphases on cancer, women's health, neuropharmacology, and infectious diseases. We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests that will complement these Departmental, College, and University research efforts and focus on novel methods of cell delivery, biopharmaceutical delivery, pharmaceutical biotechnology and/or pharmacokinetics. Depending on rank sought, candidates should be prepared to develop or maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program. Teaching in the professional and graduate programs of the College of Pharmacy is an expectation of faculty in the Department.
The minimum qualifications for this position include training and ongoing research in pharmaceutics, drug delivery, and/or pharmacokinetics; a doctoral degree in a related area; and a record of peer-reviewed publications. Applicants to the ranks of Associate or Full Professor would be expected to demonstrate a sustained track record of sponsored research funding.
