One of our endeavors at GSK's NCE Discovery site in Cambridge, MA, is developing screening technologies based on affinity selection - a discovery paradigm to screen unprecedented chemical diversity at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional methods. Our industry-leading platform based around DNA encoded small molecules (Encoded Library Technologies) is poised to achieve new levels of productivity following advances in selection methods, data analytics, and high throughput chemistry. We are looking for a biophysicist who will be responsible for the development, validation, qualification, and implementation of test methods in support of discovery research with particular emphasis on biophysical assays. Why You? Basic Qualifications: PhD/MS/BS in biophysics, analytical chemistry, biology or biochemistry. Experience running biophysical and chemical assays and measuring small molecule or aptamer protein interaction. Independent, organized, and willing to take on responsibility and continually pursue self-improvement. Ability to work in a team and give/receive constructive feedback. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of a BS with 9 years of experience; an MS with 6 years of experience; or a Ph.D. in a related field with 1-3 years of postdoctoral experience is required Hands on SwitchSense or SPR experience is required Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: ASMS, MST, TSA, DSF, ITC, etc. Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS, SEC, etc. Experience in Encoded Library Technologies (ELT), Systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX), and other affinity selection technologies is preferred Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret, integrate and analyze complex data sets is required *LI-GSK If you require an accommodation or other assistance to apply for a job at GSK, please contact the GSK Service Centre at 1-877-694-7547 (US Toll Free) or +1 801 567 5155 (outside US).
