The Department welcomes applications from candidates, particularly those from diverse backgrounds, who investigate any biological system and who will contribute to the diversity and excellence of our community of scholars.  We are particularly interested in candidates whose research interests include plant biology, developmental biology, or stem cell biology, but we encourage applications from anyone whose interests mesh well with the broad research interests of the MCDB faculty that include plant biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, cell biology, computational biology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics and biotechnology. The department recently relocated to a new state-of-the-art research building with exceptional facilities for carrying out a wide range of experimental investigations.
