As part of continuing growth in Genetics and Neuroscience, the Department of Biomedical Genetics and the Ernest J. Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience at the University of Rochester invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Neurogenetics at any level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). Researchers using genetically tractable model systems and/or neurogenetic tools to study the relationships between genes, neural circuit development and function, and behavior are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a demonstrated history of research accomplishments, high potential for future research funding, and a commitment to training graduate students and postdocs in an inclusive and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will join a highly interactive, interdisciplinary community of researchers in the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and the adjacent College of Arts, Sciences & Engineering. The Neuroscience and Genetics communities span both campuses and encompass a wide variety of world-class basic science, translational, and clinical research. A thriving, collaborative environment provides outstanding opportunities for research that transcends traditional boundaries. Faculty benefit from vibrant training programs, state-of-the-art infrastructure and core facilities, a strong institutional commitment to career development, and a culture that fosters the success of a diverse group of researchers and students. Rochester is a medium-sized city in western New York State known for its outstanding quality of life and a lively arts and culture scene.

Interested candidates may apply by sending, in PDF format, a cover letter, CV, Statement of Research Interests, and up to three recent publications, to <neurogenetics_search@urmc.rochester.edu>. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should also include contact information for three references. The search committee, chaired by Douglas Portman, Ph.D. (douglas.portman@rochester.edu), will review applications on a rolling basis. To ensure full consideration, materials should be submitted by Nov. 30, 2021.
