As an Associate Scientist, you will perform biological discovery and development research within a major or significant therapeutic area or a sub-specialty (e.g. biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology). These responsibilities include some of the following: Performing routine biophysical characterization methods such as LC-MS, CGE, cIEF, light scattering, particle characterization, spectroscopy, calorimetry, other compendial test etc. Preparation of samples for characterization studies Maintain thorough electronic lab notebooks and documentation records Deliver reproducible and impactful results under ambitious timelines Execute and troubleshoot standard protocols, develop and adapt new protocols into practice to improve assays as needed. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelors/Masters in Sciences/Engineering discipline with experience in biological systems 1-4+ years experience (for Bachelors) and 0-2+ years experience (for Masters) Experience in mass spectrometry of large biomolecules Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Strong verbal and written communication skills Meticulous and motivated lab scientist with demonstrated experience Strong theoretical and practical background in proteomics and biophysical characterization methodologies Why GSK?
