POSITION SUMMARY

The Melov Laboratory at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging is seeking a Postdoctoral or Masters Researcher to participate in innovative research aimed at mapping senescent cells in human tissues with age. The qualified applicant will focus on single cell transcriptomics & spatial transcriptomics as part of a large multi-site consortium to define senescent cells in aging tissues. Key aspects of the position are routine preparation of single cell libraries, spatial transcriptomic profiling, and optimizing senescent cell detection in aging human skeletal muscle, breast, and ovary. This is an opportunity to become trained in state-of-the-art technologies, which will shape the future landscape of the biology of aging, and define a “senescent atlas” in these tissues.

THE PROJECT INVOLVES TRAINING IN THE FOLLOWING RESEARCH FIELDS:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD/MSC in Biology, Chemistry, or other related fields
  • Excellent cell culture skills
