TENURE-TRACK & TENURED POSITIONS

Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor

The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota invites applications to fill tenured and tenure-track faculty positions. Our current faculty direct research programs focused on discovery in the areas of neuropharmacology and addiction, cancer, immunology, inflammation, and infectious disease. We hope to build within these areas of strength while recruiting individuals with active interest in the areas of drug discovery and development, structural and/or computational biology, and clinical investigation. Required applicant qualifications include a PhD with relevant postdoctoral training in the biomedical sciences; applicants with MD or MD/PhD degrees will also be considered. Candidates for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions must have a compelling vision for an independent research program and a solid research publication record in this area. Candidates for tenured Associate Professor or Professor positions must have a record of sustained funding and publication, as well as a commitment to collaborative research and mentorship. Individuals from historically underrepresented groups in STEM and medicine, including women, minorities, qualified persons with disabilities, and protected veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Department of Pharmacology is a collegial community located on the beautiful Minneapolis/St. Paul (Twin Cities) campus of the University of Minnesota. We strive to cultivate a diverse and inclusive community that leverages the unique perspectives of our members to achieve excellence in research and education. We benefit from the resources of a world-class medical school and large health sciences community, as well as strong relationships with institutional partners including the Masonic Cancer Center, Center for Immunology, Medical Discovery Team on Addiction, Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development, and Institute for Translational Neuroscience. We direct the Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics graduate program, a cross-departmental training community of 75+ faculty trainers, 50+ graduate students, and an engaged alumni network. We also direct a popular undergraduate minor program in pharmacology and take pride in serving as critical resources of scientific expertise at the institutional, state, national, and international levels.
