POSITION OBJECTIVE

I. STATEMENT OF RESEARCH AND SCIENTIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

· A self-motivated PhD scientist with experience in cell biology, cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, or toxicology.

· Conceptualize and design experiments and conduct studies independently as well as cooperatively with other lab members as a team

·  Assemble data, make high-quality figures, write manuscripts for publication and present data at scientific meetings.

· Assist in developing standard lab procedures, exploring new research techniques and participate in lab management.

· Other duties as assigned.

II. TECHNICAL SKILLS

Excellent skills in culturing primary and transformed cell lines, gene cloning, qPCR, cell culture, transfection, immunoblotting, IHC and immunofluorescence staining, handling mice, performing surgeries to produce tumors in mice and treating mice with commonly-used drug/toxicant administration approaches. Working experience with long non-coding RNAs and RNA modifications are advantages.

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise research assistants, technicians and participate in the supervision of research technique for graduate students and clinical fellows.

IV. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. (in cell Biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, biochemistry, immunology, toxicology or related subjects)
