Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, located in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month positon with salary commensurate with qualifications.

The successful candidate will join a department with active research programs in pharmacology, neurobiology, infectious disease and cell/molecular biology and establish a dynamic, extramurally funded research program within these or a complementary field pertinent to human and/or animal health. The successful candidate will also teach pharmacology or related biomedical courses to professional and/or graduate students and mentor graduate students.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD with research experience relevant to Biomedical Sciences.

  • A record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated potential for successful extramural grant applications.

  • Teaching experience at a University or Professional School.
