The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Programmer Analyst position is to provide statistical programming and data analysis support for the Coordination and Data Management Center (CDMC) for the Study for the Chronic Pancreatitis, Diabetes, and Pancreatic Cancer (CPDPC), a large consortium of epidemiological studies funded by the National Institutes of Health.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Statistical Programming Using SAS and R:

* Develops programs to monitor the data quality
* Develops tables, figures and listings to report data quality issues to study sites

Statistical Analysis Using SAS and R:

* Develops programs to prepare analytical datasets for statistical analysis
* Performs statistical analyses for abstracts, manuscripts, presentations and/or publications

Statistical Reporting:

* Communicates with other statisticians, database programmers, and study coordinators and clinical collaborators across the nation in conference calls and in-person meetings.
* May present findings at relevant meetings both inside and outside of the consortium as requested.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years of experience in programming. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Experience developing tables, figures and listings; and perform statistical analyses.

Preferred: Three years of working experience with data processing and statistical analysis. Proficient user of statistical software including SAS and R. Experience with epidemiology studies, population health research or electronic health records data. SAS certified statistical programmer.
