Job Responsibilities:

• Leading a team to support development and commercial contract research and manufacturing projects in Asia.
• Identify and evaluate suitability of suppliers for Gilead chemical development and manufacturing projects based on their capabilities, resources, quality system and EHS situation.
• Acting as project manager, facilitate communication between supplier and Gilead to ensure project on time delivery
• Serve as a subject matter expertise for Gilead chemical development and manufacturing activities at in China, supervise and support all activities in the process development and manufacturing of key raw materials and intermediates, facilitate to resolve issues, and provide onsite technical support.

• Working closely with Gilead counterparts in different function areas to plan and manage project progress and logistics globally.
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Good knowledge and understanding of modern organic chemistry and process chemistry.
• Good knowledge and understanding of and abundant experience on modern pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Good knowledge of Chinese pharma chemical industry
• Good knowledge of pharmaceutical project management, Good knowledge of process and analytical R&D/ tech transfer/manufacturing/scale up/validation etc.
• Capable team leader for managing outsourced development and manufacturing activities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, together with highly developed motivational and organizational abilities
• Good language skills in both Chinese and English

Basic Requirements:

• M.S degree with at least 7 years of working experience in chemistry
• Management working experience in a matrix organization are preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written English skills
