Tandon School of Engineering: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in Biology, at the level of Industry Assistant Professor or Industry Associate Professor, with a start date of January 2022 or September 2022.

The department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering offers BS degrees in Biomolecular Science and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, MS degrees in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship, and a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering.

An Industry Professor's primary roles are teaching, mentoring, and educational innovation and the position may also entail some administrative work and outreach. We invite applicants for an Industry Professor position whose duties will include teaching laboratory and lecture sections, depending on departmental needs. The successful candidate will also be expected to coordinate all Biology lab instruction. This involves managing all aspects of Tandon's undergraduate biology teaching labs, including preparing materials and maintaining laboratory equipment functional. The typical teaching load for this position will be three lab sections and one lecture course per academic semester in addition to the lab coordination duties.

Qualifications

We invite applicants for classroom and laboratory teaching in all areas of biology with particular emphasis on cell and molecular biology and physiology. You should be an excellent teacher. A Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related discipline and a record of industrial experience and/or teaching in these areas is required. Applications by candidates who have recently completed a Ph.D. or postdoc, with a minimum of 1-year of experience after the Ph.D. and who have a strong interest in teaching are encouraged to apply.
